Fish: little tunny – (Euthynnus alletteratus)

 

Description The little tunny is found in warm temperate and tropical waters and the Mediterranean. It is found regularly in offshore and inshore waters, and is classified as a highly migratory species. The little tunny feeds primarily on pelagic fish. It is best identified by the dark spots appearing between its pectoral and ventral fins and “worm-like” markings on its back.

Size: Until 1m.

Diet: little Tunny eat alewives, silversides, sand lances, and other fishes, as well as squid.

When Do you catch it in Barcelona: September until October

Fishing Technique: Trolling

As food: grilled as steaks.
