Marín(us) Chapter 4 : A Boat Designed by Fishermen, for Fishermen

The new OLBAP TR12 Marín(us) is beginning to take shape.

At Charter Inad, we are designing a boat specifically to provide a better sport fishing experience on board, with every construction decision based on our experience and knowledge of the sea.

Last Tuesday, September 1st, the Charter Inad sport fishing team, formed by Toni Alavedra, fishing guide and technical advisor to the project, and Dani Marín – Skipper Inad, professional and port skipper, visited the OLBAP shipyard to continue working on the construction of Marín(us).

Toni brings his technical knowledge and extensive experience as a fishing guide to the project, helping us analyse the boat from a fisherman’s perspective: how anglers move during a fight, where fishing rods should be positioned, how to make movement around the deck easier, which areas should remain clear, and how several people can fish simultaneously with comfort and safety while avoiding tangled lines.

During the visit, we finalised several key aspects of the #Marín(us) configuration: the position of the helm cabin, the bimini top, the forward sun deck, the main seat, the folding seats on the port side, the rod holder layout, the stern ladder and the freshwater system, including the tank and hose connection.

Every decision has one clear objective: to make fishing on board more comfortable, practical and safe, while facilitating movement around the deck, providing protection from the sun and easy access to water for cleaning fishing equipment or cooling off.

The Marín(us) trimaran design also provides exceptional stability through its three hulls, while its wide, open deck allows us to adapt our activities to different users, including people with reduced mobility.

Our goal is not simply to have a good fishing boat.

We want to create a better experience of fishing, boating and exploring the Barcelona coastline — an experience open and accessible to everyone.

During the visit, we also confirmed that the hull mould, raw materials and fuel tanks are already prepared for the next stage: the construction of the hull.

The #Marín(us) is becoming a reality.
